A short history of Blackmagic digital mixers
Blackmagic Design was founded in Melbourne in 2001 by Grant Petty and grew by buying and then radically repricing established broadcast technology — DaVinci colour grading in 2009, Fairlight audio in 2016. Fairlight's own history goes back to Sydney in the 1970s and the CMI sampler, and its post-production consoles were standard in film audio for decades.
Under Blackmagic, Fairlight became the audio page of DaVinci Resolve and the audio engine inside ATEM live production hardware. Fairlight Live is software rather than a firmware-bearing console, so there is no standalone image to archive — these pages point at Blackmagic's own support downloads.
How Blackmagic ships firmware
Blackmagic distributes updates as full software installers through its support site, and there is no separate firmware file for us to mirror.
