Mixing Station Anywhere

Privacy & Cookie Policy

Last updated 2026-09-02.

The short version.

We do not ask you for an account, a name, or an email address to use this site. We run Google Analytics to count visits and see which mixers people are looking for. We do not sell data, we do not run advertising, and we do not share anything with data brokers. A consent banner is not live on this site yet; see “Cookies and similar technologies” below for how to opt out in the meantime.

Who we are

mixerfirmware.com (“this site”) is operated by BoxCast, Inc. It is an independent archive of digital-mixer firmware and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or acting on behalf of any manufacturer. For anything covered by this policy, the data controller is BoxCast, Inc., and you can reach us at mixerfirmware@boxcast.com.

What we collect

Information you give us

Nothing is required. If you email us — a firmware request, a correction, a takedown notice — we hold that message and your address for as long as we need it to deal with the request and to keep a record that we dealt with it.

Information collected automatically

  • Server logs. Our web host records the usual request data: IP address, time, URL requested, referring page, user agent, and response code. This is how the site is kept running and abuse is spotted. These logs are the host’s standard retention, not something we query for marketing.
  • Google Analytics 4 (property G-Z834YY5J49). Pages viewed, rough geographic region, device and browser type, and how you arrived. IP anonymisation is enabled, Google Signals and advertising features are not used, and we have not enabled any cross-site or user-ID tracking. We use it to understand which mixers and firmware versions people actually come here for.

We do not collect special-category data, we do not build advertising profiles, and we do not attempt to identify individual visitors.

Cookies and similar technologies

Cookies used on mixerfirmware.com
NameTypePurposeRetention
_ga, _ga_* Analytics Google Analytics — distinguishes returning visits and sessions. Up to 2 years
mf_agreed_<make> Strictly necessary (localStorage, not a cookie) Remembers that you accepted a manufacturer’s firmware download terms so the agreement dialog is not shown on every download. Stored in your browser only; never sent to us. Until you clear site data
Consent banner not yet live.

A CookieYes consent banner is configured in this site’s templates but no CookieYes site ID has been set, so analytics currently loads without a prior consent prompt. Until the ID is added to config.yaml (site.analytics.cookieyes_id), visitors in the EU/UK should rely on browser-level controls or the Google Analytics opt-out add-on linked below. This notice disappears automatically once consent management is switched on.

Legal basis (UK/EU GDPR)

  • Consent (Art. 6(1)(a)) — analytics cookies and the measurement they enable.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — keeping the site available, secure and free of abuse, using server logs. Our interest is in running a working service; the impact on you is minimal and you can object using the contact address below.
  • Legitimate interests (Art. 6(1)(f)) — answering an email you chose to send us.

Sharing and international transfers

We do not sell personal information and we do not share it for cross-context behavioural advertising. The processors we use are:

  • Google LLC — Google Analytics 4. Data may be processed in the United States under Google’s Standard Contractual Clauses and the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
  • IONOS — web hosting and server logs.
  • Amazon Web Services — CloudFront/S3 delivery of firmware download files.

Your rights

Depending on where you live you may have the right to access, correct, delete, or port your personal data; to object to or restrict processing; to withdraw consent; and to opt out of sale or sharing (we do neither). To exercise any of these, email mixerfirmware@boxcast.com. We will not discriminate against you for asking. EU/UK residents also have the right to complain to their local supervisory authority.

You can also opt out of Google Analytics in any browser with Google’s official opt-out add-on, or block cookies for this site in your browser settings. Neither affects your ability to download firmware here.

Children

This site is aimed at audio professionals and is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from them.

Firmware downloads

Downloading a firmware file requires accepting the applicable Firmware Download Additional Terms. That acceptance is recorded in your browser’s local storage, not on our servers, and is not linked to any identifier we hold.

Changes

If this policy changes materially we will update the “last updated” date above and, where the change affects consent, re-prompt through the consent banner.
