About the Allen & Heath SQ

The SQ series — SQ-5, SQ-6, SQ-7 and the surface-less SQ-Rack — launched in 2018 and was the first Allen & Heath range to run the XCVI core at 96 kHz in a compact frame, with under-0.7 ms latency. One firmware package covers the whole family, so an SQ-5 and an SQ-7 take the same release.

How Allen & Heath ships firmware

Allen & Heath firmware updates ship per family rather than per model, so an SQ-5, SQ-6 and SQ-7 all take the same release. Downgrading is sometimes necessary when a show file was built on an older version, which is why every archived version stays available here.

Verifying what you download

Every Allen & Heath SQ file in this archive lists the SHA-256 checksum recorded the moment we mirrored it, plus a link to the original Allen & Heath source URL. Before loading firmware onto a console, run shasum -a 256 <file> (macOS/Linux) or certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256 (Windows) and compare it to the value in the table above. If they differ, do not load the file. More on how this archive verifies files →
