About the Behringer X-Air

X-Air, from 2015, removes the control surface entirely. The XR12, XR16, XR18, X18 and MR18 are rack or tabletop mixers driven from a tablet or laptop over Wi-Fi, with the same Midas preamp lineage as the X32. They are a common choice for portable rigs, broadcast flypacks and anywhere a console will not fit.

How Behringer ships firmware

X32 and X-Air firmware is distributed as a single file per family that you load from a USB stick or push over the network. Version matters: remote-control apps and the Mixing Station protocol behave differently across major releases, so keeping every version reachable matters more here than on most platforms.

Every Behringer XR18 file in this archive lists the SHA-256 checksum recorded the moment we mirrored it, plus a link to the original Behringer source URL. Before loading firmware onto a console, run shasum -a 256 <file> (macOS/Linux) or certutil -hashfile <file> SHA256 (Windows) and compare it to the value in the table above.
