The Vi series, launched in 2006 and developed with Studer, introduced Vistonics — rotary encoders set directly into the touchscreen, so the control you touch is the control you are looking at. The range runs from the compact Vi1 and Vi1000 up to the Vi7000, and remains common in theatre and touring.

How Soundcraft ships firmware

Ui-series updates are applied through the browser interface itself, while Vi and Si consoles are updated from USB media. Soundcraft rotates older downloads off its support pages fairly quickly, which makes an independent mirror genuinely useful for anyone maintaining an older desk.
